What is a wireless access control system?
How wireless access control system works?
- First, the authorized individual uses their biometrics, fob or card on the wireless reader located at the entry point of a restricted area or building.
- The wireless reader sends a signal to the central controller, which manages and regulates access to this exact area.
- Next, this controller has to verify the user's identity. To do that, the system checks the credentials that were previously programmed in the database. These may include the access permissions and security clearance level or any other details that are saved.
- Based on the verification results, it decides whether to grant or deny access to the user. If access is granted, the controller sends a signal back to the wireless reader, which then unlocks the door or gate.
