About Orange
The area later to become the good town of Orange was originally inhabited by the Paugassett native American tribe and was subsequently purchased from those local natives by the Reverend Peter Prudden for the grand total of six coats, ten blankets, one kettle, twelve hatchets, twelve hoes, twenty four knives, and twelve small mirrors.
It was, as initially settled, just a district of neighboring Milford, but by 1822 had grown large enough that residents wished to form their own town, establishing Orange not long thereafter, and named after the British monarch King William III, who was also titled the ‘Prince of Orange’ in his native country of the Netherlands.
Orange is also home to the American headquarters of the Pez Candies company since 1952, the product of which are often carried in the small, pocket-sized mechanical devices known colloquially as ‘pez dispensers’ and which have since become an indelible part of American culture.
We here at SURE LOCK & KEY also strive to become an indelible part of the overall community and social fabric of Orange, and indeed across the great state of Connecticut, by providing them with the very best local residential, commercial, and automotive locksmith services imaginable near them.
