About East Hartford
The town of East Hartford was incorporated in 1783, however, it was founded in 1635 as a part of Hartford. Shortly after the separation, the town experienced a steep industrial development. Local entrepreneurs and manufacturers started to produce paper, glass, gunpowder, cotton goods, etc.
The town is home to the headquarter of Pratt & Whitney, an American aerospace manufacturer. Except for this, the town is home to lots of museums such as the Edward E. King Museum, the Hockanum Hose Co. Fire Museum, etc.
Being located on the east bank of the Connecticut River, across Hartford, the town has lots of attractions such as Great River Park, Wickham Park, Easton Orchard, etc.
