About North Haven
The town of North Haven lies on either side of the Quinnipiac River, in the southern center of New Haven County. Originally a part of New Haven, North Haven was incorporated in 1786. In the early 19th century, North Haven was primarily known for its farming industry, but in the next few decades, the town’s economy and industry grew hugely due to the expansion of brick manufacturing. By 1888, North Haven’s population had also included immigrants from Germany, Italy, Poland, Ireland. Nowadays, the town is known for its authentic suburban architecture and admirable river beaches.
