About Maricopa
Maricopa is a city in the Gila River Valley in Pinal County, Arizona, United States, and is the largest incorporated municipality in the county. For quite some time, Maricopa had three different locations - Maricopa Wells, Maricopaville, and Maricopa Junction, later known as Maricopa. This location began as an oasis, supplied with water by rivers such as Arizona, Gila, Santa Cruz, Vecol, and Santa Rosa. Maricopa Junction was located eight miles north of present-day Maricopa and about a mile west of Pima Butte. According to the 2010 census, 43,482 people lived in the city. Since then, Maricopa has had a population of 58,125 as of the 2020 census.
