About Glastonbury
The town of Glastonbury is located on the banks of the Connecticut Rivers, in the central part of the state. The town was found in 1693, but the first settlers came here in 1636. It got its mane after Glastonbury in Somerset, England. During its history, the Glastonbury industry growth in different directions. At different times, local manufacturers were involved in shipbuilding, gun powder production, soap manufacturing, etc. Nowadays Glastonbury is famous for being a town with the oldest continually operating ferry in the country. Except for this, the town is known as of the best places to live in Connecticut and for its outstanding educational system.
