About Cave Creek, AZ
Cave Creek is a town in Maricopa County, Arizona, in the Sonoran Desert. It was settled in 1870 and got its name after the cave next to the creek the town was founded on. The surrounding area was a popular destination for gold diggers after Henry Wickenburg discovered gold in the Bradshaw Mountains in 1864.
The town reached its prosperity in between 1935 and 1943 after Bartlett and Horseshoe Dams on Verde Rivers were constructed.
Today, Cave Creek is a perfect place to hike, bike, and explore outdoor activities.
