Lipscomb is a charming city in Jefferson County, Alabama. Situated southwest of Birmingham, it is part of the Birmingham metropolitan area. The city was incorporated in 1910 and derives its name from L. Y. Lipscomb, one of three brothers who established the first settlement in the area in 1885.
