About Woodstock, IL
It is a city located 40 miles from Chicago. The city's population is about 26,000 people. The historic downtown area is home to the landmark Opera House building. Woodstock was named one of the nation's Dozen Distinctive Destinations in 2007.
The city is also known for the fact that the movie Groundhog Day was filmed there in 1993. Many scenes from this movie were filmed in the city center or on the side streets. Even the usual shop signs can be seen throughout the movie.
