Libertyville is a village in Illinois that is a part of Lake County. It is a northern suburb of Chicago. The total area of Libertyville is 9.16 square miles and the population is about 20,500 people, according to the 2020 census. On the eastern side of the village, there's a Des Plaines River. The village was settled in 1834 and was named Vardin's Grove. Then in 1839, it was named Burlington and finally, a few years after, it was renamed Libertyville. This village is residential for the most part.
