About Old Saybrook
Old Sybrook is located on the Long Island Sound in the southern part of Connecticut. Originally settled by the Dutch in 1623 as a short lived factory, the town became an epicenter of the Pequot War that took place between 1636 and 1638. In 1644 the Saybrook Colony became part of the Connecticut Colony. And shortly after that, the town was incorporated. The town is the original site of Saybrook College, one of the 14 residential colleges in Yale University. Except for the remarkable educational system, the town is also known for its museums, art centers, parks, and its recognisable lighthouse.
