About Waterford
The town of Waterford was settled by English immigrants in 1637, in 1801 it got incorporated from New London. Being located on the Long Island Sound, the town was a major center of fishing. Local members were also involved in agriculture and trading, but the town was widely known for granite mining which lasted from the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th.
Nowadays Waterford is one of the best places to live in Connecticut. Also, it has lots of facilities to offer to visitors such as Harkness Memorial State Park which includes a seaside garden.
