Griswold is located in New London County. Originally a part of Preston, the town was incorporated in 1815 and named after Governor Roger Griswold. Jewett City is a town’s borough named after Eliezer Jewett, a prominent local entrepreneur who opened several mills and an irrigation plant in the late 1700s.
