About Deep River
Deep River got its original name only in 1947, while it was founded in 1859. Earlier it was a part of a Saybrook Colony, which joined Connecticut in 1644 and set off as a separate town in 1665. According to the census, there are only 4,629 people in this town. Deep River has its own historical places, such as the Public Library and Ancient Muster (the place where all drum and fife enthusiasts gather). The historical part and everything that happened in the town in the past takes place in the Deep River Historical Society, which was founded in 1840.
