About Bristol
Bridgewater is a small town incorporated in 1856. It is a part of Litchfield county in Connecticut. It is located on the northwestern side of the Housatonic river. When the town was founded, it was divided into different districts. Each of them acted like a separate community with its own schools and stores. The town mostly specialized in farming. In the 19th century, dairy farming and hat-making developed here. According to the 2020 census, the town's population is about 1,662 people.
