Located in a Lake County, Illinois, USA, the village of Grayslake was incorporated in 1895, 9 years after a station of the Wisconsin Central Railroad was built here. The village was mainly named after Grays Lake, the actual lake in the village. The total area of Grayslake equals 10.078 square miles, 2% of which (0.208 square miles) is covered with water. According to the 2020 census, the village population is 21,248.
