About Bethel
First settled in 1700, and officially incorporated as a town in 1855, the town of Bethel’s name is derived from Hebrew, meaning literally ‘House of God’.
With a name meaning that, it’s actually rather interesting that Bethel has the distinction of having had the very first Vodka distillery open in the U.S. after Rudolph Kunnett purchased the recipe for the fearsome liquor from the exiled Russian Smirnoff family.
It was also the home of the world-famous showman P.T. Barnum, whose most famous quote (even though he himself denied ever saying or believing it) is “there’s a sucker born every minute”.
Barnum himself, always an inveterate self-promoter, firmly denied ever saying or indeed believing such a thing, but regardless of the truth, we here at SURE LOCK & KEY would never treat our valued customers for suckers in delivering to them the very best local residential, commercial, and automotive locksmith services in the current marketplace.
